A Mess, Nonetheless

Melissa and Rachel were asked to podcast a segment as part of a women's conference regarding when God doesn't feel safe. This episode is from that conference and we hope you'll find something beneficial in it.

Show Notes:

  • When God doesn’t feel safe to us, often we stop going to him.
      1. Think of a friendship, or any other relationship. Pulling away is natural when someone doesn’t feel safe.
  • When we stop going to God, He feels less safe.
      1. We start losing trusting in God when we start relying on ourselves to feel safe
      2. When we stop going to God we step into the enemy’s playground
  • God can handle us pressing in and asking him questions.

Genesis 18:23-33 - Abraham questioning God “Won’t you save any of these righteous people?

Habakkuk questioned God:

He complains to God about how evil the Israelites are. Then God replies he will use babylon to deal with them, and Habakkuk is even more mad that God would use even more evil to accomplish his plan.

Job questioned God for 37 chapters while God intentionally stood aside and let him. Sure he put him in his place when He stopped being silent, BUT he didn’t walk away from Job in the least. He blessed him in the end!
